Boys will be Boys?

Hey there sexy. You look so hot with your cute top, and those sexy skinny jeans that show off your seductive curves, especially the curves of your…..testicles?! Gross, you’re a dude. What are you doing man?

Unless your Adam Levine, and even then, I’m still a little skeptical and wearing skinny jeans I am kind of doubting that ladies are your concern. Well, with the exception of wondering where they got their pants.

My wife and I have noticed that now more than ever there is an influx of boys, some men, who are prancing around with these jeans that look like leggings. Is this the state we are in now? For instance, there is a certain someone from American Idol, Danny Noriega, who loves sporting the skinny jeans. Well, he does look "Super", or so he would probably say. I just don’t get it. Are the 80s back? I certainly hope not. Now, I’m not a fan of baggy jeans, but how about something that doesn’t make a statement about the size of your package.

Format War Over: Blu-ray Declared King of the Hill

Just in case you haven't heard the news, HD-DVD has given up in the next-generation format war. Well, actually Toshiba has decided to pull the plug on HD-DVD, saying that they will cease production and shipments of HD-DVD players by March of this year. It is the FINAL nail in the coffin for HD-DVD. As a Playstation 3 owner, I had no doubt that Blu-ray would be victorious. I'm not a fanboy by any means, but when Sony took the risk to push a format by integrating it into their newest console, that became the "trojan horse" that played a huge role, even though most critics were skeptical.

Consistently, Blu-ray disc sales outnumbered HD-DVD from month to month. As a Playstation 3 owner, and an HDTV owner as well, it has been a pleasure to watch movies on Blu-ray. Currently, we have over 20 Blu-ray movies. If you are interested in deals, keep Amazon.com bookmarked as they offer pretty good deals. If you are looking for a cheap dvd upscaler, which is a device that adds pixels to simulate a higher resolution, then HD-DVD may be a sweet deal. Blu-ray offers uncompressed resolution, so from a video standpoint, DVD upscaling is not as high of a quality as Blu-ray.

What does this end mean to the high-definition landscape? I believe to begin with, this news will be a boost to the Playstation 3 as it becomes an attractive prospect for consumers looking to jump in the high-definition arena. Also, with manufactures focusing on Blu-ray, it should help drive the prices down on hardware as all of them will be fighting to have consumers choose their product. I don't think that prices of discs will be dropping anytime soon, but here to hope.

Another change for current Blu-ray owners will be the release of movies on Blu-ray from Universal and Paramount. This is probably the best thing for comsumers. This gives Blu-ray a total lock on movie studios. Finally, Universal on Blu-ray. Hopefully now, consumers who were waiting for an end to the format war can now be confident and become proud owners of high-definition players. As for the HD-DVD owners out there, I've got a question for you. How does this affect you?

Can Games Bring Your Marriage Closer? Probably Not!

As I continue my quest to bring my marriage into a new level, I thought how about a nice time with my wife playing Rock Band. I think the jury is still out on this new therapy. Let me know what you guys think.

It's crazy out there!

Okay, Okay. I hear you. I get it. All my posts are about race. Well, no they aren't, but it seems that lately they have been. However, look into the eyes of little Dora, and tell her she doesn't belong. Well, of course she doesn't, she is a cartoon, but I believe the point is clear.

So, you may wonder how I came up with this idea. Sadly, it is not my own. I was watching TV one night, and they were showing an immigration rally in Irving, TX, and this caucasian gentleman (I'll be nice here) was holding a piñata of Dora the Explorer along with a sign pointing to her with the words, "Illegal Alien". How crazy is that? I don't get how people can be so inflamed that they make comments like that. We don't need TV writers, when real life is way more hysterical.

I have heard a suggestion for fixing the immigration problem that involved having gun turrets along fence, and that if they can pick a few Mexicans off, they will learn their lesson, and that will take care of that. I am not kidding, I actually overheard a debate, and that was the self-proclaimed enlightened man's idea. Well, we will never get anywhere with thoughts like that floating around.

So, unless we want Dora back in her country doing who knows what (selling gum), then we need to come together, and develop an idea or support a candidate that is fair. That concludes my last race post for a while....you can rest easy.

Sonic's Java Chillers; Starbuck's cousin who is just as hot, but a whole lot easier!

I have become addicted to Sonic's Java Chillers, of the Mocha variety. I don't know if anyone else out there has tried them, but I highly recommend it. They are pretty close to a Mocha Frappuccino from StarBucks. They also happen to be cheaper than StarBucks as well, which probably does not come as a surprise.

So, if you happen to need a StarBucks fix, why not give the Java Chiller a try. I am pretty sure your wallet will appreciate it. Heck, you can even pass this off as a smart financial move that will save you money in the long run. Enjoy.

Ralph's got my vote!

Here today I am trying out an embedded video in my blog post, and just write some of my impressions from this episode of The Simpsons. Ralph Wiggum, one of the funniest characters in The Simpsons was written in as candidate in a recent episode. Barring from his age, would Ralph make a good candidate? Well, his answer to immigration, "Stranger Danger", is seemingly innocent, but beneath it lurks a more sinister tone. Stranger danger is what a child is supposed to yell when confronted with someone who they do not recognize.

Pure racism can wear a sneaky disguise, in the form of an 8 year old boy! Basically, strangers, or immigrants, are dangerous in his eyes. Sadly, most Americans feel the same way. I believe the best thing to do in this situation is if they are already here, let's make them citizens, have them pay taxes, and help drive more dollars into our economy and government. Now, if you have committed a crime, I believe you should be deported, but that there should be a scale to this. That's just my two cents.

As a Republican, I am deciding between Huckabee and McCain. Maybe it is finally time for McCain to shine. Hopefully, soon I will be able to break down the likenesses and differences between the two, so I can Rock the Vote!

Digital Distribution of Movies: Is it the next big thing?

If you have been covering MacWorld, you may have heard that Apple is starting a rental service through iTunes that is compatible with your computer, iPod, and Apple TV, which is their version of a set-top box to play movies through your TV. They are now fully joining into the mass of companies offering digital downloads where you do not actually have the physical media, as it is stored on a hard drive or other device. Many companies (Microsoft, Sony, Amazon, etc.) are touting that digital distribution is the way of the future, and that physical media will still be dead. There are a growing number of people who believe this will be happening soon. Most of the people who do frequent blogs like Engadget, Gizmodo, and other technology blogs. Now, what they fail to realize is that most of the general population does not have internet connections fast enough to accommodate such requirements to easily make use of digital downloads. The only digital download that is actually thriving is illegal downloads, and those will never go away. Why pay for something, when you can have it free? That is why DRM will never work as well.

So, before you go touting that digital downloads will replace disks, you ought tell your neighbor who still uses dial-up he needs to upgrade. Here on the internet, people love to voice their opinions, much as I am doing now, but for most people voicing their opinion, their words and reality are often in contrast.

Furthermore, even if you wanted digital downloads of movies and such to become mainstream, our connection speeds need to increase as well. Oh well, you need to just get FIOS right? Fiber optics; delivering the dream. Yeah, if you live in the four house that it currently serves.

Finally, people need to realize that even though you have the latest and greatest, most of America does not. My grandparents still have a VCR and only 1 DVD player in the house. Don't even ask them about high definition anything, whether it is disks or movies or TVs. This is the current state of America. You shouldn't hide behind your Xbox and Monster energy drinks. Come out and really take a look. Then, go to your favorite blogging site and rant away in their comments section. Show everyone how cool you are, by thrashing an article, because there was a spelling mistake or the person being interviewed is not good looking enough.

Ok, enough of that. Listen, I just don't think America is ready for this future just yet. I applaude Apple, Sony, Microsoft, and others for bringing us the future now, but actually it is not quite here yet. So, in the end we will find out if the spice will flow.
